General Robert Berkman is one of the most effective Orionite generals of the Forman War. He was the youngest of 3 brothers, and his father, Robert H. Berkman Sr, was a general in the Orionite Army who led the Compact to victory in the Grease Wars. Being from such a notable military background, it was only natural that he would also pursue a career in the military. He joined as soon as he could, and he quickly gained a reputation for being a diligent and dedicated soldier. He was known for his stoic and fiery personality that more than once got him in hot water with his commanders; however, none of them could deny that he was a good soldier, so he rose through the ranks. He was an avid observer of the Centauran War and the Antarean armies strategic use of tanks to break through lines. He became fascinated with General Cervantes, noting that the strategy for Operation Kataklysm was nothing short of genius. Berkman used those same tactics in wargame exercises in which he led his mock army to victory. But he had yet to be tested in battle.
Berkman was sent over to the Second International Conference, where he came face to face for the first time with Antareans. The SIC incident game as a great shock to him, he is quoted as saying "instantly it seemed fishy, but then I put two and two together. It must've been a false flag. They wanted war"
Sure enough, war broke out. Berkman was sent to command the 5th army in Libra, where during the fighting he was injured by an artillery shell. He was put out of action for two months, but came back with a vengeance. His tenacity earned him the nickname "Old Ironside."
Berkman's army launched an island-hopping campaign, slowly taking back the islands of Libra. During this time, he grew infamous for not believing in Shock Syndrome. "If you're not injured, then you don't get to fuss. They're all cowards looking for a quick trip home." he was almost court-martialled on several occasions for slapping soldiers suffering from shock syndrome.
By 1955, the Antareans ha been beaten back from the Libran islands, and with the revelation of the Bear's Blunder, Berkman's suspicions were proven correct. Berkman's 5th Army was assigned to be the invasion force of Ursa. Berkman was reportedly ecstatic to be making landfall on Ursa, believing he was following in his father's footsteps. The 5th Army became the stuff of legends, having successfully beaten back not only the Antareans, but the Ursans.
In 1956, it was no surprise that Berkman's 5th Army was assigned to spearhead the invasion force in Tucana. Berkman gave a rousing speech the day before the invasion, saying "I don't care whether you're Unist or Astranist, I think every one of you boys here were chosen by God for this historic event. Gentleman, destiny is calling, and we must not keep him waiting."
The invasion of Centaura is when he would gain his second nickname, "The Hammer," as Berkman's tank and infantry forces burst through Antarean defenses. He met up with Kaden Tau's Mongoose Brigade and swept through Antarean resistance.
The Fifth Army was also the first to learn the truth about the "Lake of Death" and General Fredrick Eisenbak. In later interviews, Berkman said "I thought I had seen the worst that war had to offer. Nothing could compare to what I saw there"
The Fifth Army's offensive into the Columban Mountains had been stalled until several divisions of the Orionite Paratrooper Corps helped break the defenses, and the Fifth Army would successfully liberate Mundare in early 1958.
The Fifth Army's finest hour was the siege of Ananteria, where they broke through the last of Antares' defenses and overtook the royal palace. Pictures of soldiers raising the Orionite flag in the city square would appear in headline news the world over.
Berkman would be present at the signing of Antares' surrender, and returned home the most decorated General in the Antarean Army.
Postwar, Berkman would have a hard time settling in to peacetime life. "That war was by destiny" he would say "Now that I have accomplished that, I don't know what else there is for me" Notably, during this time he would change his mind about shock syndrome after seeing its effects on veterans, most notably, his oldest son who had witnessed most of his company being killed. Berkman would make many public apologies stating, "I was an ignorant fool. I know now that some wounds aren't physical. And some wounds never heal"
He would go on to found the Berkman Foundation to help veterans recover and readjust to civilian life.
A movie would be made about Berkman, called "Ironside" which Berkman apparently had mixed feelings about. While he said his portrayal was fine, he was most notably picky about the historical accuracy of the gear and uniforms used in the movie, which Berkman said were "all over the place"
Berkman died in his home in 1992. At the age of 84.
Many historians laud the strategic genius of Berkman, noting "he was effective, commanding, and unrelenting" though they also say "the myth has somewhat overshadowed the man. He has become "The" general of the Forman War, despite the fact that there were other Orionite, Hydrusite, and Libran generals whose contributions were just as great yet who go uncelebrated."
His peers noted, "He was a cranky, standoffish old man. But damn, could he command an army"
"When people study military strategy, Berkman is likely to be the one they will hold as a shining example of everything you can do correctly."

Antares Sold the Battleship and the other cruiser and then I sold the rubrum
But then things took a turn, viola destroyed kappa and lambda, but was rusted by lambda's torpedoes, (Battleship Time): When It was just the orionite battleship left, antares was panicking, but when they finally faced the battleship, me and another guy fired the torps as quickly as we can since the battleship turrets were too slow to react, and then we won.
Holy Sell Orion Why did you even lose to a rusted destroyer
How many FPS when playing DA?
Mine: 30-40 FPS
(after change graphics setting to lowest, toggle both texture and shadow off)
Well the lobby in dead ahead said so
I'm from the Centaura wiki. And now because the game got cancelled i'm here. Just looking around, i'm not entirely new to the game.
Im Also Proposing this to be the Design for the Libran Battlecruiser In Dead ahead since I haven't Seen Any Libran Battlecruiser Leaks Yet
(Edited by Ryman the Forman)
This took place when the alnitak fought with the omicron, he was one of the alnitak's main gunners.
I made a battlecruiser in my own style based of the horrible looking tier 10 cruiser from world of warships.
The hull looks really bad.
